The Journal of Indonesian Digital Islamic Studies is a fully open-access scholarly journal, meaning that all published articles are made freely and permanently available online to readers worldwide immediately upon publication. In accordance with internationally recognized open-access principles, the journal disseminates its content under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

This licensing framework permits users to copy, distribute, and reproduce the published material in any medium or format, as well as to remix, transform, and build upon the work, provided that the use complies with the terms of the license. Specifically, users must give appropriate attribution to the original author(s), provide a reference to the license, and clearly indicate whether any modifications have been made. Such attribution must not imply endorsement by the licensor. In line with the non-commercial clause, the material may not be used for commercial purposes. These permissions are irrevocable so long as the license conditions are respected.

The journal’s open-access policy aligns with the principles articulated in the Budapest Open Access Initiative and the standards promoted by Creative Commons, which emphasize the removal of financial, legal, and technical barriers to scholarly communication. For authors, this model offers several significant advantages, including retaining copyright, unrestricted global accessibility to their work, enhanced visibility and readership, the absence of physical or spatial limitations, and a more efficient publication process that facilitates the timely dissemination of research findings.
